Outpatient Coders needed for Remote and Onsite opportunities at Walter Reed Hospital

Government Contractor, a nationwide consulting firm specializing in healthcare information management services is currently seeking Coders for a special project at Walter Reed to work on a backlog of records. You will be responsible for performing in-depth coding of outpatient medical records to validate code assignments based on clinical documentation. Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E&M codes are required. Knowledge of DoD systems (CHCS, AHLTA) a plus. Prior DoD experience is highly desired, but not required for this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Responsible for ensuring appropriate numeric codes are applied to accurately describe the encounter for both diagnoses and procedures. This may be completed by either applying alphanumeric codes on a paper record or through validating provider selected codes in the electronic record.


REQUIREMENTS: Requires one of the following through AHIMA or AAPC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC.

DESIRED SKILLS
Apply ICD-9CM codes to Outpatient encounters. Ability to apply appropriate Evaluation and Management codes based on documentation.

Here’s what we are looking for:  Full time, full benefits, initial contract slated for 1 May – 30 September (although this contract is expected to extend beyond the initial contract period due to backlog of records)

1 Outpatient Auditor – onsite at Walter Reed   Pay rate $40/hr & travel stipend (Metro cost/ reimbursement)

17 Outpatient Coders – can be remote or onsite Pay rate is $30-32/hr.  Travel stipend for onsite, will fly in all remote coders to gain laptop and security clearance, in-processing (estimate 3 days)  

 
U.S. Citizenship required at this location.  Current Secret Clearance highly desired!

    Account Manager: Shipyard Trades

    Job Summary:

    Implement and maintain a customized system of ensuring the customer's satisfaction and maintaining the staff placed in a field operation (shipyard).

    • Serve as liaison between field employees, customers on the job sites and in home office
    • Build customer relationships and provide top notch customer support on all field job sites.
    • Coordinate with all field employees on all employment related activities.
    • Coordinate with human resources in the hiring and terminating of field employees
    • Walk new employees into job sites
    • Orient new employees and explain the task requirements of each job site
    • Receive and distribute new work orders to the home office
    • Communicate with home office on employee reviews, new work orders, new hires, terminations, counselings, field activities, etc.

     

    REQUIREMENTS:
    · Minimum 2 years managing field activities, preferably in a staffing firm operation.
